The OVS Seeking Solutions Summit is a biennial gathering of OVS-funded advocates and allied professionals to learn about a specific topic that will improve their ability to serve victims and survivors of crime in New York State. This year’s Summit, Restorative Justice: A Survivor-Centric Approach, aims to provide participants with a core understanding of restorative justice as it relates to survivors of crime, where the field is going, and tools to implement restorative practices with their clients.
This 1.5-day in-person event will be held September 19 – 20, 2022. Full Summit details, including a downloadable agenda and course catalog, can be found on the Agenda page.
Registration for the Seeking Solutions Summit is limited to advocates from OVS-funded organizations and allied professionals and space is limited to 125 participants. Registration is processed online via the OVS Seeking Solutions Summit website and will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees cover summit materials and limited light-fare snack and beverage options throughout the event. Costs NOT included in the registration fee include travel to and from the event, full meals, and overnight room accommodations, though many of these expenses may be reimbursed by OVS for eligible attendees (see Reimbursement Eligibility below).

Location and Lodging
The OVS 2022 Seeking Solutions Summit will take place at The Marriott Albany, located at 189 Wolf Road in Albany, NY.
Upon successful registration, hotel room reservation information will be provided.
A limited-capacity room block at The Marriott Albany has been secured at the rate of $114 per night (not including taxes and fees). It is the responsibility of attendees to secure their own room within the OVS room block.
OVS may reimburse lodging expenses for eligible attendees (see Reimbursement Eligibility below), however, room availability is limited, and room reservations will only be accepted through September 5, 2022, or until sold out, whichever occurs first.
Reimbursement for room reservations will only be honored for eligible attendees in official Travel Status as outlined in the New York State Travel Guidelines. Only individuals traveling 35 miles or more from official work and/or home locations may seek approval for reimbursement.
OVS grantees are allowed to charge travel-related conference expenses to an OVS-funded grant IF funds are available on that grant. To have travel, lodging and limited meal expenditures reimbursed by OVS, eligible attendees MUST contact their OVS Contract Management Specialist PRIOR to incurring any expense. In addition, only individuals in Travel Status (as outlined above) will be eligible for travel-related reimbursements.
Information about meals covered during the OVS Seeking Solutions Summit can be found on the Agenda page. Dietary restrictions must be noted at the time of registration.
