La'Tryse Anderson has been with Buffalo SNUG (Should Never User Guns) since October 2017 starting as Outreach Worker. Buffalo S.N.U.G. is an evidence base violence prevention initiative program. We work to reduce gun violence in our community by mediating conflict with individuals who are at the highest risk of shooting someone or being shot.
In 2019 La’Tryse became a Senior OW and a SNUG Trainer with DCJS (Division of Criminal Justice Services). In March of 2020 she was promoted to the Outreach Supervisor position. La’Tryse is trained by Erie County Restorative Justice Coalition in Restorative Justice Circles. She has successfully facilitated and co-facilitated over 300 circles in the city of Buffalo’s alternative high schools. Additionally, La’Tryse is trained in the following modalities: Motivational Interviewing, Black Male Grief, Hip-Hop Therapy, Healing Centered Engagement and Street Relapse.
